Progression & Manual Press Work
Progression Press Tools typically utilise coils of sheet metal, including copper, brass, aluminium, and more. These coils are introduced into the tool either manually or through an automatic feeder. With each press ‘stroke,’ the material advances to the next forming stage.
Clydesdale Engineering operates two progression presses, a 250T and a 500T, capable of working with both coils and strips.
The recent addition of the 500T press has bolstered our pressing capabilities, enabling Clydesdale Engineering to offer high-volume solutions to our clients.
Achieving precision in the setup process is paramount to ensure the accurate advancement of strips or coils at each stage of production.
Our manual press shop boasts over 40 presses, spanning from 30T to 800T. In recent years, this facility has been extensively used to support subcontract work and manufacture aftermarket car body panels. However, we’ve also secured contracts for lower volume production.
The manual press facility offers customers the flexibility to obtain pressed products without incurring the higher costs associated with progression or transfer press tools. We place a strong emphasis on incoming raw material controls, a critical aspect for our business and our valued customers.
We consistently provide material certifications with each delivery. Additionally, we offer the option for customers to either supply their own materials or rely on Clydesdale Engineering’s skilled purchasing team to procure materials at competitive market rates.
